WHAT IT TASTES LIKE: Pleasant creamy flavour and a buttery personality, malty and juicy finish. White, crumbly paste.
WHERE IT COMES FROM: Made by Todd, Maugan and Kim Trethowan at Trethowan Dairy in North Somerset from the milk of a single herd. There are only a few farmhouse Caerphillys being produced these days and the Gorwydd is hand crafted to a traditional recipe before being matured for three months. In 2017 alone, it won two golds at the International Cheese Awards, gold at the Artisan Cheese Awards, and gold at the British Cheese Awards.
